Former Special Agent in Charge of the FBI New York Counterintelligence Division Charles McGonigal, one of if not THE highest ranking FBI agent to ever be charged with serious crimes, is set for a change of plea proceeding today in New York.

Is it just another coverup?

THE UNITED STATES is considering a plea deal that would allow WikiLeaks founder and whistleblower Julian Assange to return to Australia, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Monday.

U.S. Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy told the Morning Herald that there could be a “resolution” to Assange’s now-four-year detention in Britain.

Assange, an Australian citizen, has been held in a London prison since 2019 while combating U.S. extradition efforts. He faces 18 criminal charges in the U.S., 17 of which allege violations of the Espionage Act.

Sentencing for McGonigal is set for December 14th. He has agreed not to appeal any sentence under 5 yrs in prison.

Dasting. McGonigal may use classified info at sentencing.

Now ofc, it could just be an effort to get a sentence under five years by submitting a summary of all the amazing work he did for the USA (*cough* while also being a Russian asset, laundering money, undermining US national security, etc *cough*).

I'm sure there will be a submission of that nature.

That doesn't mean that OTHER information isn't included in that submission, though...

And DOJ obviously got something significant in return for this guilty plea. Otherwise, they would have pursued the rest of the charges against him. ESPECIALLY under the current environment of RUSSIA BAD!

Special Counsel Weiss says Hunter Biden plea deal is ‘not in effect’ in new filing

Special Counsel David Weiss on Tuesday strongly rejected claims that his office "reneged" on a plea deal for the president’s son to resolve federal tax and gun charges, while stressing that agreement is "not in effect."

Weiss, in a filing Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, fired back at Hunter Biden’s legal team, which, over the weekend, filed a motion stating that "the parties have a valid and binding bilateral Diversion Agreement."

"First, the Government did not ‘renege’ on the ‘previously agreed-upon Plea Agreement,’ as the Defendant inaccurately asserts in the first substantive sentence of his response," Weiss wrote in the filing, adding that Hunter Biden "chose to plead not guilty at the hearing on July 26, 2023, and U.S. Probation declined to approve the proposed diversion agreement at that hearing. Thus, neither proposed agreement entered into effect."

"Without going into the substance of the negotiations between the parties, in the afternoon after the hearing on July 26, defense counsel asked to meet with the Government," Weiss continued. "At that meeting, defense counsel proposed changes to both documents. The Government considered the Defendant’s proposals but did not believe they were in the best interests of the United States and offered counterproposals on July 31, 2023."

Weiss said that Hunter Biden "rejected these counterproposals on August 7, 2023."
