One takeaway from yesterday's ruling, which blocked the CMS vaccine mandate nationally, is the judge's recognition of natural immunity. It may be a first for the federal courts.

"The rejection of natural immunity as an alternative is puzzling," the judge wrote. He asks, "If boosters are needed six months after being "fully vaccinated," then how good are the COVID-19 vaccines, and why is it necessary to mandate them?" "...millions of people have already been infected, developing some form of natural immunity, and when people who have been fully vaccinated still become infected, mandatory vaccines as the only method of prevention make no sense," the judge later writes.

BREAKING (AP) — US official: US identifies first case of omicron COVID-19 variant in California.

UPDATE: The CDC confirms the first case of #Omicron in the US was identified in San Francisco. The individual was a traveler who returned from South Africa on November 22. They were fully vaccinated and had mild symptoms.
