I watched Ben Shaprio's "examination" of 2000 mules. I thought Ben was too dismissive of election law procedures and got mired in parsing "fraud." Procedure matters because it's the law, and it protects our elections.
Sure, votes cast by dead people are "fraudulent," but ballots collected or cast in a manner that does not comply with the law should not be counted either. Ben got mired in the "intent/fraud" issue. But the intent of the ballot harvester and of the voter in a harvesting case is largely irrelevant. If the "ballot trafficking" did not comply with the law, then the votes are "illegal" and should not count. See, North Carolina 2018.
The intent of the "mules" and those whose ballots they cast could have been entirely innocent. But, if the votes were illegally harvested or illegal cast, then those votes should not have been counted. Many of us said early on that we needed to audit the absentee ballots rather than diving into the software. But we never got a meaningful absentee audit with signature matching in any contested state, including Maricopa County.
In sum, it's easy to get mired in the definitions of "fraud" versus "illegal trafficking." But procedural law is critical for fair and free elections, and conservatives, in particular, should be rock solid on this front.
