Currently, we're told Putin has called off the invasion because "It's too muddy for his tanks " and "He can't risk offending the Chinese during the Olympics', so it will have to wait until closer to the spring.

The Russians are rational actors. Yes, they view NATO's eastward expansion as a severe threat, but they understand that they do not need to fire a shot to see that many of their demands are met. Putin understands he has the upper hand.
