Taxonomy of procrastination

I claim that if you want to do a thing and
- you like doing it; and
- you’re sure it will work; and
- you’re sure it will be awesome; and
- you’ll get the benefits quickly;

then it will be easy. So if you’re procrastinating, look for the bottleneck.

How Your Circle of Friends Influence Who You Become

Want to be successful? Surround yourself with successful people. Want to be happy? Surround yourself with happy people. Want to be healthy? Surround yourself with healthy people. Want to become more confident? Surround yourself with confident people.

In essence, we become more like the people we hang out with.

Jim Rohn tells us: “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

Why Software Patents are Bad, Period.

Suppose you invent a flying car. You invent it all by yourself — literally. You did all the work. You invented every last piece and built the car yourself. You unveil it to the world, and everyone loves it. Then, lawyers come and take all your money and tell you you can’t sell flying cars anymore because it turns out someone had already filed a patent on a flying car a few years beforehand.

That’s the reality of patents.

List one task, do it, cross it out

1. Think of something it would be worthwhile to do right now, without any expectation that you know what might be "best". (And don't forget that it could be "take a nap"!)

2. Write it down.

3. Do that thing.

4. Cross it out.

5. Go back to 1., writing the next thing underneath the one you just crossed out. Repeat (forever).

1. Is 'TikTok Brain' Affecting Kids?
2. Teens Who Are "Addicted" to TikTok Experience Worse Depression and Anxiety, and in Turn, Reduced Working Memory Capacity

Experts Says
“If you are watching TikTok for long periods of time, it may lead to problems with attention, concentration, and short-term memory.” Jessica Griffin, PsyD, an associate professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, told Verywell.

"Intensive usage of TikTok will result in a decline in brain performance and specifically weaken the ability to remember."
- Peng Sha and Xiaoyu Dong on Research on Adolescents Regarding the Indicate Effect of Depression, Anxiety, and Stress between TikTok Use Disorder and Memory Loss. Journal of Environment Research and Public Health.

"TikTok addiction can result in fatigue and a lack of focus in absorbing information from content with longer durations."
- Philipp Lorenz-Spreen on Accelerating Dynamics of Collective Attention which published by Nature Communications.

Elucidation
This means there is a gap between reality and the TikTok world. So what happens? People are forced to constantly watch TikTok because the real world is not as ideal as it is on TikTok. In the real world, we become depressed and stressed, thinking like "Why is the world so cruel ..." when it's actually just normal, lol.

Furthermore, teenagers who frequently use TikTok are more susceptible to stress, depression, and anxiety issues, as well as difficulties in understanding reality.

Moreover, due to short duration of the videos provided, when they are presented with something longer, like watching an 8-hour, even you can say it as a hour, programming course, they don't be able to finish it.

TikTok presents problem such as:
- Addiction
- Restlessness
- Lack of focus
- Damaging children's mental health
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Stress
- Feeling alienated
- Social comparison and self-esteem issues
- Cyberbullying
- Time-consuming and productivity loss
- Distorted perception of reality
- Inappropriate content exposure
- Online harassment
- Social isolation and reduced face-to-face interactions
- And so on ...

If someone were to express, "I enjoy programming. Hence, I engage with TikTok to seek out tips and tricks related to the programming realm!" Well, the trade-off of advantages (tips and tricks on TikTok) in this case does not justify the drawbacks (addiction of TikTok as mentioned above).
