Via Yahoo News 🇺🇸 🇨🇳 The U.S. is preparing to tell dozens of countries they must pick sides in the artificial intelligence race with China, warning they will be excluded from a U.S.-led AI coalition if they also sign up for Beijing's competing framework, according to a U.S. official and an internal draft reviewed by Reuters.
Washington last year launched the Pax Silica initiative aimed at securing supply chains for AI models, semiconductors and critical minerals, amid a fierce technology rivalry with Beijing.
About two dozen countries have joined, including Kazakhstan 🇰🇿, a key potential source of critical minerals that has also joined China's coalition, as well as close U.S. allies such as Japan 🇯🇵, Australia 🇦🇺 and South Korea 🇰🇷.

Via Yahoo News 🇮🇱 🇵🇸 On a searing summer day, Israeli settlers splashed in a West Bank pool created by siphoning off water that had irrigated Palestinian crops, one of many seizures of water resources across the occupied territory.
The spring served as a lifeline for the nearby village of Fasayil in the fertile Jordan Valley, where Palestinians have relied on it for generations for food, employment and to supplement irregular Israeli supplies to their domestic taps.
"Our water supply remains cut off to this day, depriving us of the water we depend on for our homes, our livelihoods, and our agricultural land," said Saad Nemer, who farms the land.
Israeli settlers seized his irrigation pipeline in June, channeling the water to an ancient pool in an archaeological site. Soon after, settlers advertised it as an Israeli tourist attraction and Israel's far-right finance minister pledged financial support.

Cranbourne Star News 🇦🇺 🇮🇱 🇵🇸 A ‘Free Palestine’ party intended to funnel votes to conservative parties like One Nation in a self-confessed bid to mislead voters has been approved by the Victorian Electorate Commission (VEC) and will be added to the November ballot.
Back in June, the party registered from a Berwick address, with right-wing leader and online political commentator, Avraham (Avi) Yemini asking his one million YouTube subscribers to register interest in the party to gain approval from the VEC.
The scheme, Yemini said, would work to capitalise on voters from the left and those from migrant backgrounds.
“What is the one issue that unites useful idiots from the far left to the fringe right, to certain immigrant cultures that have imported their hate… Free Palestine,” he said in a YouTube video.
The goal for the proposed party would be to “redistribute leftist votes back to conservative parties”.
Meanwhile, another group, led by Palestinian activists, wanting to register as a ‘Free Palestine Party’ was denied by the VEC because its name resembled Yemini’s political party.
