On Wednesday, one of the world's largest shipping and logistics companies, United Parcel Service (UPS), announced that it has signed an agreement with startup BETA Technologies to deliver ten Alia-250 eVTOL drones by 2024.
UPS, which has an option to purchase 150 of these machines through its UPS subsidiary Flight Forward, says they will help reduce emissions from both its ground and air transport.
“It's about innovation with a focus on the ROI of our business, our customers and the environment,” said Juan Perez, Chief Information Officer, UPS. "These new aircraft will improve the operational efficiency of our business and open up opportunities for new services."
