On April 9, 2021, while landing at Charleston Air Base (South Carolina), the landing gear of a heavy military transport aircraft Boeing C-17A Globemaster III of the 437th military transport wing of the US Air Force caught fire. No casualties were reported. It is noteworthy that this aircraft (US Air Force number 10-0223) is the last, two hundred and twenty-third aircraft of this type ordered for the US Air Force.
