WHO-DUNNIT? China COVID probe claims lab leak “extremely unlikely”

A joint probe carried out by China and the World Health Organisation has deflected blame from the Wuhan lab leak pinpointed by senior US officials. The main hypothesis it's claimed is that the virus was transmitted to humans from bats via another species, then directly, and least likely by food.

Washington had expressed “deep concern” over the investigation’s transparency as China dismissed allegations of interference.

The WHO chief has already claimed all Covid hypotheses “need further study”. Let’s hope their fact-checkers aren’t as blind as bats.
