IDF Begins Partial Withdrawal from Gaza, Retains Control of Key Zones

🇮🇱 The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have initiated a full-scale withdrawal of troops and equipment to pre-agreed positions within the Gaza Strip as part of the latest phase in the ceasefire and territorial arrangement. Upon completion, Israel will maintain control over approximately 53% of Gaza, including critical buffer zones and strategic sectors.

The retained areas include the entire Israel-Gaza border buffer, the Philadelphi Corridor along the Egypt-Gaza border, Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya in the north, key high ground east of Gaza City, and large sections of Rafah and Khan Younis in the south. Military analysts note that this configuration effectively divides Gaza into several controlled sectors, ensuring Israel maintains operational dominance and border security while easing international pressure for a full withdrawal.
