Thailand launches airstrikes on Cambodia

A Thai F-16 fighter jet bombed targets in Cambodia on Thursday after weeks of tension over a border dispute escalated into clashes that have killed at least two civilians. Thailand is deploying six F-16 fighter jets along the disputed border. Meanwhile, Cambodia said Thai jets dropped two bombs on a road and condemned the aggression.

A Russian passenger plane (Antonov An-24), operated by Angara Airlines and carrying about 49 people—including several children—went missing in Russia's Far East near the town of Tynda, Amur region, on Thursday. The aircraft lost contact with air traffic controllers just a few kilometers from its destination and a major search operation was launched.

Later, authorities confirmed the wreckage was found on a mountainside about 15 km from Tynda, with no survivors reported. Preliminary investigations suggest the crash may have occurred during a landing attempt in poor visibility, and a criminal probe into air safety violations has been opened. 🕯️
