Reports indicate that the Bangladesh Army Aviation Group has been installing an air defence and radar system at Lalmonirhat Airbase over the past two weeks.

A large hangar facility at the base was reportedly completed late last year, while security around the airbase has now been significantly tightened following the deployment of sensitive defence equipment.
