Iran has reinforced its authority over the Strait of Hormuz by turning back the Pakistan-bound container vessel SELEN for failing to meet legal transit requirements. Alireza Tangsiri said the ship did not obtain necessary clearance or coordinate with Iranian maritime authorities, which he described as essential for safe passage. Tehran maintains that compliant, non-hostile vessels can pass, but warned ships linked to the United States or Israel may face restrictions.

"Countries that did not participate in the war against Iran can pass through the Strait of Hormuz with Iran's consent: in recent days, ships from China, Iraq, Russia, India, and others have passed through this strait," stated Arakchi.
