Excited to announce Functions by QuickNode – a serverless platform for blockchain apps!

What is Functions? A serverless computing platform for deploying lightweight, scalable code that’s optimized for web3 - with built-in access to common web3 packages like ethers, web3, and the QuickNode SDK.

Why should I care? You can create your own custom Function or tap into a library of templates which are one-click away from integration. The QuickNode team populated the library with a few templates to start, and we’re going to add more along with our developer community.

You’ll have an arsenal of Functions to implement and massively accelerate your time to market. Check out our template library here. Our favorite today is a gas estimator that leverages a Stream and Function to give you real-time gas estimates.

What else should I know? Functions is the perfect complement to QuickNode products, like Streams–together creating the ultimate blockchain ETL pipeline. Streams pushes data directly to your custom function. Here, you can filter, transform, enrich or enhance your data however you see fit with Functions.

Finally, you can send it to its final destination, or park it in storage for retrieval later using Key-Value Store. Key-Value Store can also store metrics, compare data, and capture analytics over time.
Functions currently supports Node.js and Python. Soon, Functions will support Go, PHP, Ruby, Swift, Java, and Docker.

Write your code in the Functions UI or upload it as a zip file or Docker image. It supports Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, and more.
