There is this speech in Steel Ball Run by the President of the United States.

It goes something like: when you sit at a round table, the seats are only apparently democratic. If you are the first to seize a napkin, be it on your left or on your right, you will be the one that decides what napkin all the other get.

I think often about this speech.

I surely thought about it this morning, when there were no places where to park my car, and I was in a hurry, and decided to park it anyway in a place where there *was* room to park and there *was* still room to go around my car in a safe way but decidedly there was *not* a diirect designation.

As i left my car, and took a last glance at it, and saw another person park directly behind me, I indeed thought "yes, seize the napkin"

Sometimes I think that the first major gay POV in the stormlight archive to be gay is also autistic AND a monsterfucker and think “well isn’t it a bit much?”

But then I think about the people I know and say well no actually that’s pretty realistic
