Have you ever been so dismayed by an animated adaptation that all you can do is hope the live action will be better?

I’m insufferable in the sense that every time i see the fute baby hippo i think only "yeah ok but should humans be handling her so much? " "oh yeah let the hippo bite them on purpose i'm sure this won't lead to possible problems in the future" "is it responsible for a zoo to do all this?"

Sooooo i looked a bit more into it

Apparently moo deng can be viewed by outsiders for a very limited time (like 5 min and then a long pause). Which is good!

Her handler has also been working with hippos for 8 years without incidents. Also good!

So I needn’t be worried :) i think i still don’t like it, but i don’t have to, as long as she isn’t being harmed it’s fine and people can continue to gush abt her in my presence and I’ll be like “oh yeah that’s cute”

I tend to have a very self deprecating humor which I know is bad but one thing you won’t catch me saying is I have poor taste.

My tastes are impeccable. My tastes are sublime and I am always right in the things I like (I may be wrong when I don’t like something tho). I am a god of liking things.

I wish I had something truly cursed to post after this but alas

Went back to the gym today. I witnessed the following things:
• me, being handed a broom handle to do good mornings
• my trainer going out for a smoke, closing the metal door behind him thus locking himself outside
• the other trainer, coming to the rescue, anger steaming off of him, stomping and cursing god bc he was on his break and kicking the door until it slammed open

If I had a quarter for every time I’ve had feelings for a character literally or liberally associated with a dog I’d have, oh, at least a dollar and a half.
