Me: the manga scene in my country is pretty stagnating rn. They keep republishing classics and that’s pretty much it, nothing really new. Well’ let’s see how the titles announced for December look.

John Scalzi is a good guy (John Scalzi è un fra) and his plots and concepts are always spot on, but then the books are always very meta and derivative, and have all quite the same voice. They always feel like a piece of candy: quick and delightful, without any substance.

Now, what next. I think I’m in a mood for fantasy with heaps of creative worldbuilding but not necessarily high stakes.
