15. What should I know if I am only executing one buying strategy?

If you back test any option buying strategy and check the whole number of transactions during back test, we can clearly see the number of profitable trades responsible for total cumulative profit of the buying strategy.
Out of 100 trades, 96 trades will be in loss. We can see only 4 trades will be profitable out of 100 and the specific 4 profitable trades will cover all losses and generate profit as well. So the user should make sure he should not miss those 4 profitable days and it is difficult to predict trending days even though your strategy have many indicators.

So, user make sure that the buying strategy is running all market trading days.
16. How many days option buying strategy can be in loss?

In Live market, trending days will be very limited. (Let’s say 2 out 20 trading days)
Most of the time market will be in sideways
When user deploying option buying strategies, user may expect to hold for more than 90 loss making trading days if required. Since it is a Trend capturing strategy, it will not be profitable for all the market days.
But Trending days will have great impact and user will be rewarded with great profit. At the same time user should be in strong mindset to handle 90+ loss making days.

Frequently asked questions by Quantman customers:

24.What is wait and trade feature in Quantman?

"Wait & Trade”: Don't jump onto the trade right away, rather wait for the premium to increase/decrease by some percent and then enter the trade.

whenever we create any strategy in Quantman, we are providing fixed Entry condition. For example, if we create strangle strategy for 9:20 AM entry, Quantman will place both call and put option legs exactly at 9:20 AM. We have some sort of restriction when we define Entry condition as the trade will be placed to broker portal exactly at 9:20 AM.

If we use Wait & Trade feature in Quantman for same 9:20 AM Strangle, we have more control over entry condition. For example, we have option to set more checkpoint for Entry condition. When the Entry condition met, we can check the premium for both leg and setup one more condition where my current premium increases/decreases certain %, then my trade will be placed on broker portal.

Now our Non-Directional strategy can utilise directional features while placing orders on broker. Wait & Trade feature majorly intended to get better results from selling side.

What do I mean by directional feature here?

It simply means that, you just waiting for direction to happen and we are going towards the direction by entering the trade and you are not taking other leg right away.
25.What is the logic behind Wait & Trade feature?

Both call and put option legs premium in Strangle will not increase at a time. Since both the legs are intend to capture two different trends. Obviously one option leg premium will increase before other option leg.

What are the different use cases of Wait & Trade feature?

Use case 1:
Call option leg and Put option leg will be placed on different time. Both the option leg works independently with Wait & Trade feature. (Please refer Transaction:1468)

Use case 2:
Only one option leg will be placed in broker portal when Wait & Trade condition satisfies for only one leg. Other leg will not be placed in broker portal since Wait & Trade condition is not met.
(Please refer Transaction 1415 for PE and Transaction 1472 for CE)
