SSC CGL 2024

Congratulations 🎉 to those candidates who could secure 325+ marks.

For the rest, don't get disheartened. Cut off is dependent on exam level, there are several factors contributing to high cut off this year:

1. Easy Maths/Reasoning/English: (135 marks are common in English in 18 Jan shift and 90/90 are common in maths in 20 Jan Maths and Reasoning)

2. Unpredictable GK: This made it a game of luck. When you are sure of only 8-10 Questions, you have to take guess in at least 5-6 Questions more, so your score only depends on that outcome. No Question from static GK.

So, overall in the end it became a pure game of accuracy in M/R/E and a game of luck in GK. The ones who did well in both made it through. It's totally normal to get some 1-2 Question wrong by silly mistake in M/R/E, but as it turns out that alone was the deciding factor this time.

Bury the past, focus on what is next, be it ssc exams or other exams. Don't let this result sink you. Do not doubt your capabilities. Keep a positive approach and don't look back.

It's time Exam Conducting Authorities must realize that setting ambiguous Questions/options is a useless effort to control high cut offs.

DEGRADING EXAM LEVEL IS A MAJOR CONCERN. While Bank PO final cut offs are at 50% (because of Good Exam level), SSC cut offs are crossing 85%. Even, Questions asked in Railway Exams now have a better level compared to SSC.

If anything demands a protest, it's this very issue of Exam level being too easy.
