We cordially invite you to participate in METANANO Summer School on Nanophotonics and Advanced materials which will be held on 16-18 August 2023 in Qingdao, China (offline format).
The school will provide a platform for researchers, students, and industry professionals to come together and learn about the latest advancements in the field of nanophotonics and advanced materials. It is an excellent opportunity to network with peers and establish new collaborations with leading experts in the field. The program will cover a wide range of topics such as:
- all-dielectric nanophotonics;
- advanced materials for photonics;
- chiral and bianisotropic metasurfaces;
- perovskites nanophotonics;
- bound states in the continuum;
- microwave metamaterials;
- optoelectronics;
and others.
This year the School is fee-free and covers tuition, social events, coffee-breaks, lunches, a conference dinner and accommodation on campus. All participants are encouraged to attend the Poster Session competition. The best posters will receive awards from Nanophotonics journal.
Application deadline: 22 May 23:59 (GMT +3).

Китайский миллиардер Хэ Сянцзянь, основатель и крупнейший акционер гиганта бытовой техники Midea Group, представил одноименный научный фонд в размере ¥3 млрд ($428 млн) для развития искусственного интеллекта и исследований климата в стране.
Создание научного фонда поможет большему количеству учёных сосредоточиться на своей работе и привлечь больше молодёжи к участию в технологическом прогрессе и инновациях в Китае.
Независимый фонд будет вознаграждать учёных, которые добились прорыва в фундаментальных исследованиях, помогают коммерциализировать передовые инновации и инвестировать в области ИИ, здравоохранения, изменения климата и возобновляемых источников энергии.
Крупный вклад Хэ, ориентированный на науку, подчёркивает активизацию усилий частного сектора страны по поддержке фундаментальных исследований во время интенсивного технологического соперничества между Китаем и США.
