On this day, 20 May 2008, Air Force Lt. Col. Joseph A. Moore, 54, of Boise, Idaho; assigned to the 124th Wing, Idaho Air National Guard, Gowen Field, Idaho; died from natural causes while deployed to Djibouti. We must never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Let's trust our worrisome fears to his care TODAY. We know he loves us. We know he longs to sustain and comfort us because of what he has done to save us in Jesus. Let's cast all of our anxiety on the LORD TODAY, because he cares for each of us!

Zabierek, 25, of Chelmsford, Mass.; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C, attached to I MEF; was killed by hostile action in Anbar province, Iraq. We are not just saved by grace FROM sin, death and hell. We are saved by grace FOR God's glory. He created us in our mother's womb with a purpose for us (Psalm 139:13-16), and God has remade us in Christ Jesus as new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17) with something special to do for him. We are his craftsmanship, his artistry, and his masterpiece. God longs to display his goodness and grace through our actions and words. You and I weren't just saved FROM sin, death, and hell. We were also saved FOR bringing the work of Christ to life in our world!
