On this day, 18 April 2008, Army Cpl. Benjamin K. Brosh, 22, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; died from wounds sustained in Paliwoda, Iraq, when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. He was supporting combat operations at Forward Operating Base Anaconda in Balad, Iraq. We must never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
On this day, 19 April 2006, Army Pfc. Robert J. Settle, 25, of Owensboro, Ky.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armored Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Taji, Iraq. We must never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
On this day, 20 April 2007, Marine Lance Cpl. Jeffery A. Bishop, 23, of Dickson, Tenn.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died from wounds suffered while conducting combat operations in the Anbar province. We must never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
