I’m writing this letter not because you asked for it, and not because I expect you to read it —
but because I need to say goodbye.
There was a version of us that lived in my mind.
A version filled with conversations we never had, moments we never shared, futures that only existed in my hopes.
I loved the potential of us. I loved the story I built around you.
But I also realize now — love needs to exist in reality, not just in imagination.
And we were never truly standing on the same ground.
I forgive myself for dreaming. I forgive myself for holding on longer than I should have.
I forgive you too — for whatever role you played, knowingly or unknowingly.
This is me, finally choosing myself.
Choosing to let go of a future that wasn’t meant to be, so I can open my hands to whatever is actually waiting for me.
Thank you for the parts of you that inspired me, for the lessons you didn’t even know you gave me.
