More On Shell Scripting

ባለፈው እንዳየነው የshell scripting ዋና purpose tasks automate ለማረግ ነው። ማለትም commands አንድ በአንድ እየፃፍን terminal ላይ execute ከማረግ በአንዴ script እንፅፍና ስህተት/ bug እስከሌለበት ድረስ every lines will be executed one after the other.

ለምሳሌ ፡
አንድ "Hello, Ethiopia!" ብሎ terminal ላይ print የሚያረግ የshell script እንፃፍ፣ ሙሉ ሂደቱን ለመረዳት ከላይ ያለውን አጭር video ተመልከቱ።

1. በመጀመሪያ text editor እንከፍታለን (such as nano, vim, or gedit) and hello.sh የተባለ file እንፈጥራለን። እዚህ video ላይ የተጠቀምነው text editor nano ነው።

nano hello.sh

ከዛ ፋይሉ ውስጥ እነዚህን ነገሮች እንፅፋለን

# This is a comment
echo "Hello,  Ethiopia!"

#line_1 "#!/bin/bash" /shebang line/ ብለን ከላይ የፃፍነው scriptu በbash shell interpreter execute እንዲሆንልን ነው ።

በprogramming comment የምንለው a text still in the code yet not executed, ለ shell Scripting comment መፃፍ ከፈለግን textun በ"#" እንጀምራለን።

ለምሳሌ the 2nd line of our script does nothing because it is a comment.

Interpreter የምንለው itself is a program that translates and executes code written in a high-level programming language in to machine code(which is understandable by the computer).

2. ከዛ በዃላ we will save our hello.sh script file.
nano የምትጠቀሙ ከሆነ መጀመሪያ ላይ "CTRL - O" to save the file then "CTRl - X" to exit from the text editor.

3. በቀጣይ የምናረገው script ፋይሉን executable ማረግ ነው: ወይም permission መስጠት ነው for the file to be executed.
ስለ file permission በቀጣይ እንማራለን but for now just do this.

chmod +x hello.sh

4. በመጨረሻ የቀረን ነገር scriptun run ማረግ ነው፣ to do this:

./hello.sh

ይሄ script run ስናረገው bash interpreter በመጠቀም the code runs and a text "Hello, Ethiopia!" is printed in our terminal, this was done by the command "echo".

ይህ ቀላል ምሳሌ ነው ሌሎች ኮዶችን በመፃፍ shell Scripting ተለማመዱ።

"A son and his father were walking on the mountains. Suddenly, his son falls, hurts himself and screams: "AAAhhhhh!!!".To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain: "AAAhhhhh!!!".

Curious, he yells: "Who are you?" He receives the answer: "Who are you?" And then he screams to the mountain: "I admire you!" The voice answers: "I admire you!"

Angered at the response, he screams: "Coward!" He receives the answer: "Coward!" He looks to his father and asks: "What's going on?" 

The father smiles and says: "My son, pay attention." Again the man screams: "You are a champion!" The voice answers: "You are a champion!" The boy is surprised, but does not understand. 

Then the father explains: "People call this echo, but really this is life. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.

 If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart. If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence. 

This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects of life. Life will give you back everything you have given to it. " Your life is not a coincidence. It's a reflection of you!

ሜዳው ምን ያህል ወደ ላይ እንደጨመረ ለማወቅ፣ ተቆፍሮ የወጣው የመሬት አካል ምን ያህል volume እንዳለው calculate እናረግና ሳይቆፈር ለቀረው የመሬት ክፍል area እናካፍላለን።

መጀመሪያ ተቆፍሮ የወጣውን የመሬት አካል volume እንፈልግ፡
Volume of earth part dug out = (22/7) * (radius of opening)^2 * depth of the opening
= (22/7) * (7 m)^2 * 20 m
= (22/7) * 49 m^2 * 20 m
= 3080 m^3

በቀጣይ ደግሞ ሳይቆፈር የቀረውን የመሬት area እንፈልጋለን፡
Area of remaining part = Total area of field - Area of opening
= (100 m * 42 m) - ((22/7) * (7 m)^2)
= 4200 m^2 - 154 m^2
≈ 4046 m^2

በመጨረሻ ደግሞ ምን ያህል height ወደላይ ከፍ እንዳለ calculate እናረጋለን፡
Increase in level = Volume of earth / Area of remaining part
= 3080 m^3 / 4046 m^2
≈ 0.76 m

ስለዚህ the increase in the level of the field is approximately 0.76 meters ወይም 76 cm ነው።
