These photos are a real challenge to do. A lot of motion, very little light. Probably over 95% of the photos I took there went straight to the garbage bin. I got to rethink my strategy about these.

Today I was on a hike across the Rauenstein in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. With me I had the 1980s Carl Zeiss Jena 135mm f3.5 for its lightweight and compactness. Note how all photos have this kind of oldschool blue hue to them. It’s what makes this lens stand out – asides it still astonishing performance even on modern high performance cameras.

It is (was) Wolf Wednesday with @C4tch_TwentyTwo. This portrait was challenging – black fur and brightly lit background. One of the few moments I had to use a classic reflector disc to lighten him up more than enough.

Istari, in the last shadows the rising morning sun is about to warm up. The big green-yellow stains are actually leaves of a tree very close to the camera.
Sometimes people seem to wonder why still buy expensive cameras if your smartphone with it's 64MP can just do the job.
A friend just sent me this, 7x digital zoom on a Pixel 8a - which really does have a good camera.
Still looks like the upscaling algorithm tried to paint an animal.
