FAQs pt. 2
How deep can custom pairs go?
A new token paired with another pump fun token can currently only be paired at a maximum depth of 1, meaning no one can launch another token with a token that’s currently paired with another pump coin.
However, if a token was previously whitelisted before today, the maximum depth is 2.

@Pumpfun: FAQs pt. 1
Which coins can I pair my new tokens to?
- Coins that are currently trading on the pump fun bonding curve
- Coins that have graduated to PumpSwap
- Coins that are on the whitelist
For technical reasons, coins that previously launched on pump fun and graduated to Raydium are NOT eligible UNLESS they’ve been added to the whitelist e.g. Fartcoin.

FAQs pt. 3
Do fees on deeper pairs stack, and will I pay more?
Thanks to a new innovation in Pumpfun’s blockchain program, traders won’t be exposed to stacked fees.
Previously, deep pairs with multiple swaps involved would expose you to every fee in the chain.
For example: if RARI & Coin A both had fees set at 1%, you’d be exposed to 2% total fees on the buy, as well as 2% total fees on the sell, meaning you’d pay 4% fees on the full trade.
We’re proud to be the first launchpad & AMM on Solana to bypass fees in multi-hop transactions, meaning the end user is no longer exposed to exorbitant fees*. To illustrate this: in the previous example, the end user would only pay 1% on the buy and sell.
*If your trading interface has not upgraded to the latest Pump Program, you will not experience multi-hop swaps with reduced fees. Users on the Pumpfun app, http://pump.fun web & @TradingTerminal are already on the upgraded program and will benefit from less fees.
We highly encourage all interfaces to support this feature ASAP.

FAQs pt. 4
How multi-hop swaps work
Instead of being charged multiple times, Holder Rewards/Creator Fees & LP fees are only charged on the last leg of the buy and the first leg of the sell. Similarly, protocol fees are only taken on the first leg of a buy & last leg of a sell. For example, a buy & sell of Coin A can be visualized in the below graphic.

What is the whitelist?
Before this update, in order for a tokenized stock, a pump fun ecosystem token, or any other kind of token to become eligible to be a Custom Pair for new coins on pump fun, they had to be added to the whitelist.
Now, a great majority of existing pump fun coins and every future pump fun coin is automatically eligible to be a Custom Pair for new tokens.
We will continue adding eligible Custom Pair tokens that are not part of the pump fun ecosystem to the whitelist.
You can find the full list tokens that are part of The Whitelist here: https://pump.fun/docs/custom-pairs
Can I change my coin’s existing pairing after I already launched it?
No. If the coin is already launched, the token it’s paired with is locked in forever.

Our main goal with this update is to help alleviate the pressure that PVP places on ecosystem tokens and use that energy for good: help strengthen established coins even further.
We achieve this by encouraging beta plays to pair with the established runner, thereby funneling buy pressure and new holders to the main runner.
To make this update user-friendly, we had to make numerous innovations to our bonding curve and PumpSwap programs.
Most importantly, we’ve prevented users from being exposed to exorbitant fees that could put them far underwater immediately when they place a trade. We're the first major platform to bypass fees in multihop swaps.
We want to ensure that established communities get as much organic buy pressure as possible, which means reducing the fees that traders are exposed to and ensuring as much liquidity enters each token as possible. Reducing fees for traders also lengthens the average lifespan of a retail trader that’s still learning the ropes.

Recently, we introduced Custom Pairs, allowing you to launch coins paired with tokenized stocks, whitelisted coins, etc.
Now, you can pair new tokens with ANY coin that was launched on pump fun
Less PVP, more PVE. Learn more 👇
