Given state of media releases in recent years as well as steady demise of groups providing quality CD rips from Japan, we have decided to amend our current rules to allow Web rips along with Web DLs (which have always been allowed).
In addition, we have removed rule which prohibited Web releases to be uploaded for media which has equivalent edition (tracks, bit-depth, etc.) released on physical media but not yet available as torrent on AnimeBytes. The change goes hands in hands with change mentioned above, as we can no longer guarantee CD rip will be uploaded soon. This also allows our team to focus on actual reports, instead of having to double check every Web-marked upload for conformity with rules. Please note that such releases are still subject to being trumped by CD rips, should they be uploaded later on.

Unsecured Jackett and -arr Apps (Sonarr, Radarr etc.)
Over the past few weeks we have been seeing an increase in unsecured Jackett and -arr Apps (Sonarr, Radarr etc.). Apparently some users are installing these applications on their seedboxes without also adding any form of authentication like a password. This is a security risk for Torrentleech and we are actively disabling accounts that have such an unsecured installation with their credentials for Torrentleech up for grabs. If you are using any such applications then please double check that you have some form of security enabled.
For most of these applications you can do so by going into Settings, then General and change Authentication to "Basic". If you are unsure then please contact your seedbox provider, our FLS will not be actively helping with such installation issues as we do not have access, nor the knowledge of how each and every provider has setup their security. In general you should always use a password for any application that is accessible via the web.

Hello ACMers, we hope everyone is doing well. With winter on the horizon, we felt it was a good time to update the community since our last update was more than 7 months ago.
Site expenses
It is with a heavy heart that we must share this sad news but we have received 2 (yes two) donations since our last donation drive, which means our sysop has been covering all the expenses for the past 8 months. As noted in the past, this cannot go on forever and there is a point where we will be forced to say good-bye regardless of how much we love our site. So we ask everyone who is able to make a donation, to please consider doing so.
We are in desperate need of funds to keep us going through this winter. Please note that with inflation now a reality, our infrastructure's cost has also increased.

Sadly, we have discovered that long-time member and staffer PQtoo has died.
She was a regular in shoutbox for years, and as a T-mod she helped ensure the quality of thousands of uploads, helped countless members in several thousand tickets, and spent so many hours correcting and perfecting her own uploads.
I know she had many friends here, and I'm blessed to count myself among them. She will be missed.
My condolences to her husband and family.

Please check if you have claimed any pots. Go to your profile, and after Pot Pledges click on (claimed pots).
If you are working on a pot, leave a comment there about progress, and update that post at least every 3 months. If not, cancel your claim. A dormant claim can discourage a potential subtitler.
Also, please keep an eye from time to time on pots you started or pledged to (see Pot Pledges in your profile). If good subtitles appeared in the meantime, report that pot with a link to the subs.
If you want to subtitle a film for which the pot has been claimed long ago without any news, please contact one of us (corvusalbus, flipflink, cyzs, musiclova).

However, we've seen some serious cases of abuse by certain Silent Sisters members. This has led us to believe we've now scaled up enough to warrant active enforcement of our HNR rules for the Silent Sisters tier. Furthermore, Silent Sisters members that are inactive over a rolling window of 6 months will also have their account disabled. If you feel you've been incorrectly labelled and disabled by the system, please reach out via DMs here, the embedded Discord chat, or directly in response to any email you receive by the site. As always, these rules do not apply to the Nightswatch tier and above. They're all immune to the HNR policy.
