During the last 24h our hosting provider suffered 2 power outages.
There will possibly be more. At this time we are uncertain if any other kind of instability might occur.

We plan to move the site to a new server in the next days/weeks.
This will cause additional downtimes, which we will try to keep as short as possible.
Slow connections
Some VPN users experienced slow conections to the site, which should hopefully be fully resolved by the VPN provider by now.

All torrents on site will be completely free to download until about 11PM CET on September 28.
As usual, no uploading will be possible for the duration of the event, so take advantage and get rid of your bookmarks. Hopefully you may also revive some dead torrents.
Beware: Don't forget to seed back everything you download to a 1:1 ratio, or for an absolute minimum time of 3 days - even spread over a week time. Hit-and-run behavior during freeleech entails from a several week warning to a final ban.

SITE REINSTATEMENT PLANNED IN THE NEAR FUTURE
With help of many, the goal of resurrecting the Asian DVD Club was accomplished in 2019-2021. But due to the absence of steady financial support we were unable to continue service. Fortunately new sponsors stepped up to support ADC legacy. Service expected to fully resume by the beginning of 2023.
Now site is able to function without obligatory support from members. In the near future the limited service will be available to members who were active on Christmas 2021. All 3901 members who had registered between 2019 and 2021 will have a chance to be a part of ADC when full service is restored. Members who supported the site and has been active there will be reinstated automatically following programming update. The rest of registrants can gain access by participation in activities with visible results. Future enrollment will be by invitation only, with special arrangements to pre-2019 members.

There will be a planned downtime starting tomorrow on 27.09.2022, at 14:00 site time. The downtime is scheduled to last for a few hours, during which the site and tracker will not be available. IRC will stay operational during that time, but Vertigo will not be able to join to channels for the duration.
This maintenance will improve some of our systems and address the performance issues we've been sporadically facing recently (particularly affecting tracker availability). We will update this announcement if anything else comes up.

Reward Threads
It is great joy that we announce that all reward threads are up to date. Over 500 torrent descriptions were improved, nearly 1000 IMDB#s were added, and many custom creation and New to CG were paid on. It will now be our goal to award coins and complete updates and payments within hours instead of weeks or months.
Now that so many of the torrent improvements have been provided and made, we would like to make a general call for any user who has an upload that needs the description improved to do it themselves. Improvements to your own descriptions or to those made through Improve Torrent Descriptions/Gain GBs! can be pointed out in The Pimp a Torrent Thread. This might bring some action back to torrents that may have been shunned due to their poor descriptions and lack of screens.
Avatars
I have noticed a few less users without avatars. The newest users seem to be the most reluctant to use them. I looked at the 100 newest users the other day and found that of the 36 that had ratios, only 4 had avatars. To help remedy this, we are looking for any of you still actively making avatars to help out with Avatar Request Thread. Users can offer credits to the avatar makers, or the avatar makers can just post interesting avatars and let the users decide how much to pay for them.

Seems the polls have become a topic of conversation, so A Poll discussion thread could be fun? has been moved to the General Forum. You can voice your thoughts on any of the polls here.
As I said last month, we're doing what we can to make your experience at Cinemageddon as good as possible. We have not stopped trying to continually make it better.

Given state of media releases in recent years as well as steady demise of groups providing quality CD rips from Japan, we have decided to amend our current rules to allow Web rips along with Web DLs (which have always been allowed).
In addition, we have removed rule which prohibited Web releases to be uploaded for media which has equivalent edition (tracks, bit-depth, etc.) released on physical media but not yet available as torrent on AnimeBytes. The change goes hands in hands with change mentioned above, as we can no longer guarantee CD rip will be uploaded soon. This also allows our team to focus on actual reports, instead of having to double check every Web-marked upload for conformity with rules. Please note that such releases are still subject to being trumped by CD rips, should they be uploaded later on.

Unsecured Jackett and -arr Apps (Sonarr, Radarr etc.)
Over the past few weeks we have been seeing an increase in unsecured Jackett and -arr Apps (Sonarr, Radarr etc.). Apparently some users are installing these applications on their seedboxes without also adding any form of authentication like a password. This is a security risk for Torrentleech and we are actively disabling accounts that have such an unsecured installation with their credentials for Torrentleech up for grabs. If you are using any such applications then please double check that you have some form of security enabled.
For most of these applications you can do so by going into Settings, then General and change Authentication to "Basic". If you are unsure then please contact your seedbox provider, our FLS will not be actively helping with such installation issues as we do not have access, nor the knowledge of how each and every provider has setup their security. In general you should always use a password for any application that is accessible via the web.
