Tracker Stabilized
Many iterations of tuning and throttling later, we've managed to get Ocelot purring along again. As of this writing, we've passed 24h of uptime, and the swarm is back to ~85% of the pre-outage peer count. Your supportive messages were greatly appreciated.
There is now a protection method in place that will cause 502 errors to be returned if the tracker is overwhelmed. This limit will be tuned over time, but should not occur in normal circumstances. In the event that you do see it occasionally in your clients, just allow your client to reannounce automatically and it should resolve itself.
Torrent inactivity pruning will remain paused for a bit longer to allow folks to reconnect and sort out any TLS issues with their clients.
Required Ratio / Ratio Watch
The tracker downtime has lowered everyone's effective seeding percentage to zero. As a result, everyone's required ratio is maxed out for their download tier, and that may result in ratio watch warnings and/or leeching disablement. There are no long-term negative effects of either state, and this will correct itself over the next 72 (48 now) hours as your seeding percentage returns to normal.
TLS Compatibility
At this point, anyone not able to connect to the tracker over HTTPS is almost certainly experiencing a TLS compatibility issue (see previous announcement).
Our forum community has come together with some excellent information on TLS support in legacy OS/app combos. It has been determined that Windows 7 requires tweaks to support TLS 1.2. It also appears that macOS versions < 10.7 don't support TLS1.2 at all. Watch this space for anyone who comes up with a fix.
A helpful migration tool has been found for those who want to switch from old versions of uT to qBT.

The recent downtimes have aggravated an already large backlog of torrent reports. Our staff team is hard at work processing through them to continue to ensure a high-quality catalog. Your continued patience is appreciated.

They have extensive experience moderating music torrents on Gazelle, so they're hitting the ground running despite only recently emerging from hibernation to scream from the top of our report pile. So one of our core servers (Pervy) appears to have worn out his NVMe SSDs. We'll need to have them replaced by the hosting provider which will unfortunately result in some downtime.
We can't say when this will happen but expect it sometime over the next few days.
It is essential that we carry out this work sooner rather than later as the disks are past their write endurance limit, by a not insignificant margin.

We expect all services to be unavailable during this maintenance which will last a minimum of 4 hours, it may take longer. Maintenance tasks:
Halt all DB traffic and take a full backup to our offsite backup storage;
Gracefully power off all VMs on the affected server;
DC technicians scheduled to exchange faulty drive at 06:00;
Rebuild RAID mirror;
Restore services.

2022-08-08 - qBittorrent-Enhanced-Edition is specifically banned because it can be configured to automatically block leeching clients.
Any user found to be using qBittorrent-Enhanced-Edition will be warned and given 24 hours to switch their client being used, if a user does not change their client, downloading and uploading will be disabled until their client has been changed.
Any user found to have modified the code of qBittorrent-Enhanced-Edition to report as another version to the tracker will have their account immediately banned with no chance for reactivation.
