Text 2 (15 sentences)

My brother and I share a flat. We live here since last September. He always is leaving dirty dishes in the sink, which drives me crazy. I have asked him to change his habit many times, but he never listens. Right now, I am sitting in the living room, and he watches TV very loudly. For the last twenty minutes, I try to read a book, but I can't concentrate. I don't understand why he is being so inconsiderate. Every Tuesday, I am cleaning the whole flat by myself because he never helps. So far this month, he already spends 50 hours watching TV and zero hours cleaning. I have been thinking about moving out for weeks. Actually, I just decide to look for a new place tonight. I feel proud of myself for taking action.

My grandmother has been gardening all her life. She grows vegetables and flowers since she was a child. Every spring, she is planting tomatoes and roses. Right now, she works in her garden despite the heat. She doesn't seem tired at all. For the past five years, she wins first prize at the local flower show. People often are asking her for advice. My grandmother always is happy to help. I have been visiting her every Sunday since I moved to this city. Right now, I am watching her from the window. She just finishes watering the roses. I have noticed that her hands are shaking lately, but she never complains. I don't know how she stays so positive. Actually, I am realising that she is my biggest inspiration.

Ten years ago, Barsky and Purdon (2006) discovered that social networks which are expanding communication through social media are becoming popular and the costs involved are getting further reduced. Yet, library executives did not see how such a phenomenon could become a part of library and information services. They felt that the users should be left to their social media while the library carried on with its traditional roles (De Rosa et al., 2007). This was also the case when Charnigo and Barnett-Ellis (2007) conducted a survey of 126 academic librarians and concluded that 54% of the librarians surveyed did not believe that there was an academic purpose for Facebook. The rationale behind these librarians’ belief was that the social media was a space where students interact with each other, hence, the librarian was not welcome as their coming in might be viewed as an invasion of space. But time has proved that as the technology of the social media became more popular, users and librarians acquired digitally literacy, and libraries, seeing an explosion of social media around it, were forced to reconsider their stance. In a survey involving 497 international librarians, Taylor & Francis (2014) discovered that over 70% of librarians now feel that the use of social media is important. Though the wave began with public libraries (Mon, 2015), today, libraries of every type either have a social media presence or they are seriously considering it. Hence, the use of social media by libraries has become mainstream.

🖥 The state of Vermont has one of the greenest grids in the US. Two thirds of their electricity comes from renewable energy sources, like solar, wind, or hydroelectric plants. The current goal is to be at 75% by 2032. Which is why it was pretty surprising when a new solar project here was denied.
This area doesn’t have a lot of people, but it does have plenty of potential for renewable energy. The power plants here, in addition to a regular power supply from Canada, already put about 450 megawatts of electricity onto the grid — and by grid, I mean these power lines — but the grid’s capacity is around… 450 megawatts. So, the grid just wouldn’t be able to handle any more power generated here.
If we want a greener future in the US, we’ll need to build more renewable energy plants. But to actually use that electricity, we’ll also need to build more.
Electricity goes from the power plant, through big high-voltage transmission lines, to a substation, where the electricity is dispersed onto smaller, lower-powered distribution lines, that send it into my house.
In a decarbonized future, we’re going to need to get electricity from here to here. And, we’re going to move a lot of it. That’s where high-voltage transmission lines come in.
