πββοΈ Dear colleagues!
π§ Today, October 15, is World Anatomy Day. This is the day when we pay tribute to Andreas Vesalius.
πVesalius was the first to describe human anatomy based on observations of dissecting corpses, refuting many errors of Galen, who studied animal anatomy.
π©ββοΈ Anatomy is a science that helps us understand how the human body is structured and how our organs and systems work. Without anatomy, it is impossible to become a good doctor, because it is the basis of medicine. π
π¨Anatomy is not only a science, but also an art. Many artists of the Renaissance, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, studied anatomy for the beauty and realism of their works.
πΌ Anatomy is also history, culture and philosophy. It shows us how human knowledge evolved, how the attitude to the body and soul changed, how medical traditions of different peoples were formed. π
π Anatomy is an amazing world that we can explore and discover every day. π
π Happy World Anatomy Day! π
