Sermons for Lent: How do I avoid Spiritual Burnout? This Lent, especially with the amount of prayers, penances, and sacrifices we are giving for various intentions and purposes, we are only human. Weak and brittle in nature without Christ. At times, we will become exhausted, which is not a bad thing. It is bad however, or worse, if we do not consult Christ and rest upon Him. It is humility to admit that we are nothing without Christ, but it is true piety to enact this statement within our day to day lives.

Something I had wanted to share in regards to forgiveness.
Many people struggle with it, it is not an easy thing to do. Yet, once you're able to forgive, the burden is lighter. As time passes, the offenses and personal grievances fade. While we should seek to forgive everyone in our hearts, you do not owe someone forgiveness if they are not truly sorry for what they had done (repentance.)
If you struggle to forgive...
- Consider praying for them.
- Consider that they might have offended you without great knowledge (arrogance or accident)
- At the very least, one should will the good of another. (Catholic definition of love, not secular.)
- Offer your grievances to God.
Even the greatest of Saints had struggled with forgiveness. It's nothing to be ashamed of if one puts in the effort and time to change that habit.

Marian Modesty โ To Wear, Or Not To Wear; Pants. Our bodies are a temple of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:19), and they are to be adorned by Virtues, not by masculinity.
Pants and other bottoms have been strictly designed for the Male Sex according to it's stature, biology, and anatomy. This helps cover the man and does not hinder him nor his abilities in his day to day duties. More importantly, from the fact that pants are inherently masculine, it does not render him feminine or confuse him with the opposite sex. The man may be modest and wear pants, but his counterpart may not.
A female, on the other hand, cannot adapt to a male's anatomy nor figure. What might be loose-fitting and covering on a man, will appear (intentionally or not), tight and revealing. More importantly, God has blessed the Maiden so vigorously, so generously, that it would be a mockery to envy and wear male bottoms, which ruin a Maiden's femininity, and contributes to the plague of immodesty.
Part I.

Part II โ Vanity, Vainglory, and Pride. There are those who may argue that they feel more comfortable within pants, or that they would not be able to run, exercise, or truly express themselves within a gown on which covers to them.
This is quite the contrary. Daughters, mothers, religious sisters and laywomen have been able to do these very same activities for thousands of years, without the disturbance of the gown being 'too long'. Ask Christ asks us to take care of our bodies and to keep them in shape, these girls did not fail to do so.
It's what separates us from men, rather, at least in terms of clothing. Women possess the capability and self discipline to properly carry themselves in an orderly fashion when dealing with skirts, dresses, or veils. To learn not how to trip, fall, or tangle your dress in either thorns, or your own foot, is a quality and a skill learned well. Oh! how happy Our Lady would be if we would stop making excuses and accept these challenges as a blessing, and not a burden.

Part II โ Continued.
Unfortunately, as we are blinded by our own folly, we are unable to look past the hidden dangers that are associated with dressโone of those concerns being Pride. From Pride's daughters, brings the ugly snares of Vanity, Envy, and Vainglory. Not all clothing is created equal. Modern fashions especially, which focus more on vanity and pride than they do to cultural appeal.
How upset it makes Our Lord that we care more for convenience than we do modesty. How much it makes Our Lady weep bitterly!
To appeal to the world, to appeal to fading pleasures..what a curse it is if we are dependent on the approval of others and not Our Savior. All is vanity if glory is brought to us, and not to Him.
From Vanity, Pride awaits. It ushers the poor sinner onto it's rotten fruits; with a quick glance, looks like silver and precious diamondsโthough once immersed, a foul smell and a horrid cry. Immodesty appears like a blessing at first sight, though once one comes to their senses, it's a curse.

Part III โ Heaven's Judgement.
"The devil seeks, therefore, to destroy that veneration which the faithful have always paid to Mary's chaste and virginal Body through which Christ entered this world. For centuries he has sought to find a way to remove Mary as their perfect model of chastity and modesty. Only then could he hope to bring about that mass corruption which might lead Catholics to his 'world religion'---the impure worship of the body and unrestrained sex gratification."This is apparently what Satan attempted through his agents, the powers of corruption, during the French Revolution. For, on Dec. 10, 1793 an angry mob rushed into the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, seized the statue of the Blessed Virgin on the altar, and dashed it to the floor. Hatred against the Mother of God? Quite evidently. But their hatred was directed chiefly against the Virgin with modest attire, the model of purity and modesty...."
