Yet another thing i found interesting regarding the Ottoman-Russian wars was that Charles XII, king of Sweden (famous Carolus rex), after he lost the great northern wars against Russia. He later exiled in the Ottoman empire where he persuaded the Ottoman sultan to wage war against the Russians.
