Project Dindu mod: official Trailer.

We're looking for people to help us playtest and develop the Project Dindu mod for Project Zomboid. If you're interested in playing the game, please comment here and we'll message you.

If you know how to code in Lua, leave a comment here.
Heh, we’ll see about that. This is why we’re building a strong video rightwing video game modding community, starting with Project Dindu.

I'll be posting a rough alpha version of the mod here soon, which will require you to directly install a few files into the game. But that should be no big deal for you if you know how to move files within the steam folders.

Some of you have stated that the dindu-zombie sounds are too repetitive. We need more people to help us find more clean sounds of dindus yelling, speaking in ebonics and making threats, and if you can edit the sounds with free software like audacity, that would really help us finish up this mod.
Before releasing the alpha version for you guys, I wanted to make some adjustments to the dindu-audio when the player dies. This takes time to get right, because you constantly have to readjust the volume of the different audio files so one sound doesn't drown out the others too much.

I wanted to increase the volume of the dindus when they shout "Worldstar!" while adding more sounds to make it less repetitive.

project dindu alpha v 2.3.zip

🚨 Here's the latest playable alpha version of Project Dindu: Alpha v2.3. Assuming you have the game Project Zomboid (the latest stable version) on steam on a windows 10 PC already, unpack this zip file and then complete the following steps:

1. Place the Project Dindu Mod folder in C:\Users\*USERNAME*\Zomboid\mods

2. Find out where you installed Project Zomboid, and insert the ZomboidMusic.bank file here:
\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid\media\sound\banks\Desktop

3. Fire up the game, click on mods in the Project Zomboid game menu, and enable Project Dindu.

And that's it!

The correct way to play Project Dindu is to start a custom/multiplayer game with Zombie Lore settings allowing some or all of the dindu-zombies to run and always open doors, turn off zombie virus transmission, and allow the dindus to break into buildings and set off alarms.

This game is even more fun in multiplayer.

PLEASE share Project Dindu. If I can get enough people interested in Project Dindu, I will buy a server for all of us to play on, up to 32 players at once.

Instead of arguing online all the time (it’s necessary in moderation) we should be making video games. Video games are the future of culture and we can’t afford to be behind the times again with culture. If we’re in a culture war we have to go on the offensive too, making content rather than just criticizing what the left produces.

I'm starting to come to the conclusion that video game experiences bring us closer to a more Zen-like understanding of how the world actually works and how it has always worked: might makes right. That's the immutable law of nature. All of these online arguments people here like to have about what political system we ought to live under or how we should live aren't as compelling or real as stepping into an online world where the might-makes-right dynamic is so obvious and self-evident that it's just taken for granted like gravity. The video game experience is a virtual return to nature.

The problem is when the player steps out of the game world and his mind goes back to believing in the facade of civilization and government ( the whole system) as if its legitimacy and power comes from something too "civilized" and beyond the might makes right paradigm — as if we're all past that barbaric stuff. I don't think the ruling class ever forgot that might makes right, they just spent a century or two working to convince us all that it doesn't; they know that all political power comes out of the barrel of gun, but they need you to forget that because you're supposed to be a lotus eating peasant that happily submits to their rule. "Guns for me, not for thee."

In video games, there is no facade of "civilization," but instead you have a simulation of a more natural order. I think that's one major reason why we often enjoy video games more than the real world, because we aren't living in the natural world — we're living under a modern oppressive order that goes against every fiber of genetic programming.

We’re thinking about having some sort of contest soon. We want players of Project Dindu to record their best moments in the mod and share them with us.

Have you installed/played Project Dindu yet?

The Project Dindu development roadmap:

1. Finishing sounds for the game. The dindu-nuffin-zombies need a wider variety dindu voices for various states (attacking, idle, etc...) and we are working on making sure the meta-event sounds work the way we want them to, like BLM riots replacing the vanilla game's helicopter event.

2. Replacing in game text, like monologues from the radio and TVs the character can interact with, and renaming locations, like Rosewood becoming the Free State of George Floyd.

3. Replacing more textures, especially on buildings. We want to change the names of stores to include KFC, Pay Day Loans, Chan's Weave Shop, and of course Footlocker. We're also hoping to add some BLM posters and graffiti to more walls.

4. Special items, like Air Jordan sneakers that give the character a slight speed boost at the expense of attracting more dindus. Another idea is all lootable food items turning into dirt cookies after one year passes, forcing the player to start making farms early in the game.

5. Antifa and ATF NPCs. We want "Antifas events" where Antifas occasionally show up to throw molotov cocktails at the player's base, and occasionally ATF agents showing up if you possess certain varieties of long guns.
