I'm often sent books, magazines, for endorsement. I usually politely decline unless I can--in fact--endorse what is sent. What to do with a children's magazine I don't have time to read? Just as we have been warning - the KNOWiNK SDVOTES system GO LIVE has now been pushed back to 2027.
Originally it was September 2025 GO LIVE.
Then pushed back to December 12, 2025 GO LIVE.
Minnehaha County was given TWO WEEKS to validate data for hundreds of thousands of records. NO process, no procedures, no check list, no guidance AT ALL for how to validate that data.
Now, 2027 GO LIVE.
It is true that auditors were concerned with implementing the system with not enough time to validate data and implement proper training. But, how is it possible that the SOS office can't properly train election staff when we still have EIGHT MONTHS till the elections? SIX Months to absentee voting.
Two weeks ago, the SOS office added Knowink training to the SOS auditor training that most auditors were planning to boycott prior to the addition of the SDVOTES training. Apparently, the election officials did not receive adequate training for the new system and felt strongly enough about it to speak up.
