My RS will be starting BPC-157 this morning (once the vial is done reconstituting 😉) and I look forward to sharing my findings with you here!

RS has intense flare-ups of chondromalacia patella (aka "theater knees"), and occasionally the pain is so intense that RS has major difficulty with stairs.

BPC-157 is for researchers looking for support with and potential regeneration of tissues, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. It may also support the gut and gastrointestinal system.

It is anti-inflammatory and commonly utilized for subjects with chronic pain.

Welllp…looks like BPC-157 isn’t the right peptide (currently) for my own research. 😭

I knew going in that the SSRI my RS is on for intense OCD (🎤yeah, you know me🎶) could pose an issue…and just three days in I quickly found out it in fact WAS an issue.

BPC-157, a peptide commonly researched for powerful pain, joints, and gut recovery, also has some serotonigenic and dopaminergenic properties….

🧠 And it’s strongly advised in the research community to use extreme caution when combining this peptide with antidepressants, or to avoid it entirely.

(Those research petri dishes could end up struggling with serotonin syndrome if they play their cards wrong.) 🧫🧫🧫

Within 24 hours my subject noticed mild irritability, headaches, and excess tinkle time. 🧻

72 hours in, these had increased. Exactly the potential issues I was being vigilantly observant of. 👀

So now I have a collection of bulk BPC to store in our apocalypse cabinet to trade with other desert dwellers in exchange for freeze dried decaffeinated coffee crystals. 😬☕️

Next on the to-pep list is TB-500, which does not contain serotonigenic and dopaminergenic properties, though still is popular among researchers looking for pain relief, tissue regen, and joint support for their test subjects. 🔬

Please pardon my intermittent posting the last few weeks, y'all. My brother has been in and out of the hospital with pancreatitis. As you can imagine, keeping family updated on his progress combined with the stress and worry has taken its toll with energy and time. ❤️ The good news is he is home now and on the mend!

CEREBROLYSIN Research Applications:

-Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
-Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
-Stroke, particularly acute ischemic stroke
-Cognitive enhancement and memory improvement
-Neuroprotection and neurogenesis

What is Cerebrolysin?

Cerebrolysin® is a mixture of peptides and amino acids derived from porcine central nervous system tissue. It is known for its potential neuroprotective and neurotrophic properties. Clinical trials have studied Cerebrolysin for its effects on various neurological conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, cerebral impairment and traumatic brain injuries. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32808294/
Let's talk a bit more about Cerebrolysin. This gem has shown promise in research subjects by improving conditions like stroke, neurodegeneration, and traumatic brain injury.

It works its magic by enhancing neurogenesis and reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.

"In 2012, a meta-analysis found that Cerebrolysin improves the symptoms of dementia with benefits lasting up to several months after treatment ceased. Cerebrolysin dramatically improves cognitive function in Alzheimer’s disease and the effects of administering the peptide for 12 weeks persists for three months." (1)

Cerebrolysin may help with Parkinson’s Disease by reducing a harmful substance called amyloid-beta. It also protects brain cells that produce dopamine and that helps neurons survive and regenerate, which is important for controlling movement. (1)

Is it safe with an SSRI? Most researchers say yes, though some say it could be risky (2,3).

Case study: A female patient with a stroke, already on a combination of medications including an SSRI, was treated with Cerebrolysin and a variety of other therapies. Within a month, significant improvements were noted, including the resolution of bulbar palsy, vertigo, and eyelid drooping. Over the year, the patient regained the ability to walk independently, drive, and swim, with no stroke recurrence and excellent functional recovery. (3)

For PCOS and IR research, many researchers find TIRZ to have higher efficacy versus SEMGTD. (See TINY at HVY for this option.)

RETRUD is also promising, but TINY has more data at the moment for those specific research needs.

*My subject utilizes both TINY and RETRUD for layered benefits, but starting with one property at a time is always a safer bet with research. ;-)

Here is a bit more info on each of these if you'd like to compare a bit:

(Sema)
• Mechanism: GLP-1 receptor agonist
• Effectiveness: Known for its strong affinity to GLP-1 receptors, leading to decreased hunger, increased satiety, and improved insulin sensitivity.
• Usage: Often used for weight management and type 2 diabetes.

(Tirz)
• Mechanism
: Dual agonist (GIP and GLP-1 receptors)
• Effectiveness: Has a balanced effect on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors, but with a stronger impact on GIP.
• Usage: Effective for weight loss and glycemic control, potentially beneficial for PCOS and insulin resistance. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10380206/

(Reta)
• Mechanism
: Triple agonist (GIP, GLP-1, and glucagon receptors)
• Effectiveness: Provides a comprehensive approach by targeting three receptors, leading to significant weight loss and improved metabolic health.
• Usage: Emerging as a promising option for managing obesity and related metabolic disorders. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11271400/
