SNAP-8, a well-known peptide in the skincare industry, has gained significant recognition for its role in anti-aging formulations.
As a synthetic peptide, SNAP-8 is a fragment derived from the original Botulinum Toxin substrate, offering a non-invasive alternative to Botox for reducing expression lines and wrinkles.
The peptide's ability to target the neuromuscular connections involved in facial expressions makes it an ideal ingredient in topical treatments aimed at smoothing fine lines and enhancing overall skin texture.
Reduction of Wrinkle Depth: The primary benefit of SNAP-8 is its ability to reduce the depth of facial wrinkles, particularly those caused by repeated expressions, such as frowning, smiling, or squinting. Studies have shown that regular application of SNAP-8 can lead to a significant reduction in wrinkle depth, improving the overall appearance of the skin.
In clinical studies, participants who used products containing SNAP-8 reported noticeable improvements in skin smoothness and a reduction in the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles. These results are attributed to the peptideβs ability to relax facial muscles, which, over time, minimizes the formation of new wrinkles and softens existing ones.

Should those of us who fought the good fight "naturally" but didn't see weight loss results get the same ~badge of honor~ as the "natural" success stories? You bet your sweet tushy we should!
After ~3 long ass years of battling it out with "societally approved" methods, watching my weight and inflammation skyrocket and my lab results nosedive, I said "enough!" and turned to the magic of peptides and GLP-1. π
News flash: We've ALL done it the "hard way."
Some of us just had a metabolism that decided to go on an extended vacation. π
So listen up, whether you conquered the scale through HIIT or embraced the help of science, I'm handing out badges today. EVERYBODY GETS A DAMN BADGE! πππ
Remember, a busted metabolism isn't a moral failing - it's just a puzzle that sometimes needs extra pieces to solve. No matter which hard road you took, you're a champion in my book.
Now strut your stuff and wear that badge with pride, darling! π

I missed my face.
My confidence.
My SPARK.
π So grateful to have hit this huge weight goal last week and to still see more progress as time and therapy goes on.

π Love watching the 'aha!' moment when I gently sprinkle a bit of truth and the fear from bad GLP-1 press melts away.
Education over fear-mongering, always. π

On that GLP-1 bus for weight loss? Cool cool. But did your doc tell you about these other metabolism-boosting tricks? Probably not. π Letβs get into it:
1. Protein: Donβt go ham. Stick to about 1.5g per kg of body weight, ladies. Too much and you might as well be eating a sugar cube. Overconsumption of protein can lead to increased gluconeogenesis, where the body converts excess amino acids into glucose, potentially impacting fat burning.
2. Sun-gazing (kinda): Get those eyeballs some sunrise and sunset action. Red light = happy hormones = happy weight. Science! π π Just donβt stare directly at the sun, hun.
3. Chill on the workouts: Your adrenals donβt need more stress in this modern world full of stressors. Mix it up with some gentle pilates, strength training, and walks. Bonus points for sunset strolls! πΆββοΈπ

π€ "But will you be on peptides... FOREVER?"
Let's get real about long-term wellness solutions. Before starting my peptide journey for weight loss and taming my angry thyroid, I had to make peace with something: this might be a long-term thing. And you know what? I'm totally cool with that.
Think about it - we don't question needing these things forever:
β’ Water (kind of important π¦)
β’ Vitamins & minerals (hello, modern soil quality π±)
β’ Human connection (yes, even for us introverts π )
β’ Self-care (because #boundaries)
Plus, many of us are already taking daily meds for thyroid/BP/pain/diabetes. (Thyroid meds myself included for my Hashimoto's "bestie" π)
Plot twist: What if peptides could actually help reduce or eliminate some of those other medications? (with doctor's blessing, obviously)
Here's the bigger question: if a tiny poke every few days means I feel amazing and confident, my blood sugar is controlled, I have more mental clarity and energy, and my inflammation stays in check...
Why wouldn't I want that forever?
Sometimes the best things in life are worth a little stick and prick, imo. πβ¨
What are your thoughts on taking a supplement, medication, or peptide long-term?

My RS will be starting BPC-157 this morning (once the vial is done reconstituting π) and I look forward to sharing my findings with you here!
RS has intense flare-ups of chondromalacia patella (aka "theater knees"), and occasionally the pain is so intense that RS has major difficulty with stairs.
BPC-157 is for researchers looking for support with and potential regeneration of tissues, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. It may also support the gut and gastrointestinal system.
It is anti-inflammatory and commonly utilized for subjects with chronic pain.

Welllpβ¦looks like BPC-157 isnβt the right peptide (currently) for my own research. π
I knew going in that the SSRI my RS is on for intense OCD (π€yeah, you know meπΆ) could pose an issueβ¦and just three days in I quickly found out it in fact WAS an issue.
BPC-157, a peptide commonly researched for powerful pain, joints, and gut recovery, also has some serotonigenic and dopaminergenic propertiesβ¦.
π§ And itβs strongly advised in the research community to use extreme caution when combining this peptide with antidepressants, or to avoid it entirely.
(Those research petri dishes could end up struggling with serotonin syndrome if they play their cards wrong.) π§«π§«π§«
Within 24 hours my subject noticed mild irritability, headaches, and excess tinkle time. π§»
72 hours in, these had increased. Exactly the potential issues I was being vigilantly observant of. π
So now I have a collection of bulk BPC to store in our apocalypse cabinet to trade with other desert dwellers in exchange for freeze dried decaffeinated coffee crystals. π¬βοΈ
Next on the to-pep list is TB-500, which does not contain serotonigenic and dopaminergenic properties, though still is popular among researchers looking for pain relief, tissue regen, and joint support for their test subjects. π¬
