I know that when I say I love receiving gifts I sound very shallow and maybe I am partly shallow too and that's fine. But now I am packing some stuff to bring into my new house and I have taken a box that's full of gifts and it's beautiful to see myself reflected in this gifts through the eyes of those who love me.
Vinyls of my favourite artists even tho I have no way to listen to them; a glittery ouija board; an handmade embroidery with a feminist message; a drawing of my favourite Animal Crossing character listening to my favourite podcast. Behind all the plushies, the trinkets and the tchotchkes there's an idea of me, there's a thought and there's love. Yeah, maybe those things don't go so well together, but what's a better common thread to decor the space you live in than love
