Channeling my bdsm experience in the dentist chair

My biggest pet peeve with the "media literacy is dead" discourse is that, while media literacy is indeed not peaking, it simply never did. Modern society simply made it so that more people could interact with many more pieces of media and comment on it, while earlier the percentage of people who had this privilege was so much lower.
So while I can agree in theory with the sentiment behind this statement, I still find it historically inaccurate and, frankly, kinda classist.
