I am glad I took some time away from all of this, not only because the vacation I had waited for two years wasn’t worth getting spent on this, but also because it made me realize how messed up this stuff is.
Someone that doesn’t know me if not on a parasocial level got salty cause got muted (by someone else) in my group some time ago and decided to took it out by saying that I support pedophilia because someone else in my group (again, not me) said that they don’t have a problem with lolicon because you shouldn’t judge people on what they like in fiction? This is sick, honestly. Throwing random accusation at people and acting like we know them without ever talking to them is chronically online bullshit, and this is not a term I use lightly. I know that Internet is a place where we can express some parts of us that maybe we cannot express in real life, but following someone online doesn’t mean you know them; and while I do post lots about myself on here, I am not the person I am on Prettyposting; not only, at least. There is so much about me that is not encompassed by the memes and the rants and all of that. And you don’t have to like the person I am or the persona I have on here, but you don’t have to make up accusations to justify not liking someone either. I gotta say, the laughing reactions at the posts felt nasty too because seeing someone opening up and seeing it as a chance to pour your animosity in an anonymous way is simply icky; I am glad I cannot understand how this must feel.
That said, I created a place that was good for many people and that I enjoyed, a place that was fun and welcoming; why should I let someone that I don’t respect ruin that for me and other people. There will probably be harsher moderation, I don’t want people to be nasty in my nice space, but I have too many memes and thoughts I wanna share with the world. Also, tomorrow is my birthday, I deserved to be cheered on by the nice little beings in my phone!
