Today we weep, for our friend has been taken so suddenly from us.
We are hurting, Father, deep in our souls.
Our friend who worked constantly to fix our broken land was martyred for his witness.
We who found comfort and hope through his faithful presence—we weep deeply in sorrow at this loss, we cry out now when we see his empty chair.
Lord, we did not expect this void.
We turn to You, praying for Your comfort and strength, that You will be with us through the valley ahead.
Let us rejoice, knowing his song of praise that began when he first knew You as Lord will continue into eternity.
Through his faith in You, he showed us Your transformative love in action, as he became a guide to countless hearts, an inspiration to many who needed hope, and a beloved father.
He was a good man.
