There are two trains, Train P and Train Q. Both the trains have four different types of coaches, viz Sleeper, AC Tier III, Tier II and Tier I. In train P, there are total of 3000 passengers. Train Q has 40 % more passengers than Train P. 30 % of the passengers in Train P are in sleeper coaches. One тАУ third of the total number of passengers in Train P are in AC Tier I. 18 % of the passengers in Train P are in AC Tier II and the remaining are in AC Tier III. 40 % of the total number of passengers of Train Q are in Sleeper coaches. In Train Q, the ratio of the passengers of AC Tier III, Tier II and Tier I is 4: 3: 2.

1) Answer: D

Total number of people in the town = 100/15 x 1200 = 8000

Number of male doctors in the town = 40/100 x 10/100 x 8000 = 320

Number of female teachers in the town = (100 тАУ 45)/100 x 25/100 x 8000

= 55/100 x 25/100 x 8000

= 1100

Required ratio = 320: 1100 = 16:55

2) Answer: A

Let, total number of people in the town = k

45/100 x 25/100 x k = 1350

=> k = 1350 x 100/25 x 100/45

=> k = 12000

Number of doctors in the town = 10/100 x 12000 = 1200

Number of architects in the town = 24/100 x 12000 = 2880

Number of people having other professions in the town = 26/100 x 12000

= 3120

Required average = (1200 + 2880 + 3120)/3

= 7200/3

= 2400

3) Answer: D

Number of male doctors in the town = 40/100 x 10/100 x 20000 = 800

Number of male Engineers in the town = 55/100 x 15/100 x 20000 = 1650

Number of male Teachers in the town = 45/100 x 25/100 x 20000 = 2250

Number of male Architects in the town = 60/100 x 24/100 x 20000 = 2880

Number of males in the town having other professions

= 40/100 x 26/100 x 20000 = 2080

Required sum = 800 + 1650 + 2250 + 2880 + 2080 = 9660

4) Answer: E

From I:

Number of Carpenters in the town is 10% of the number of people having other professions in the town.

From II:

Let, total number of people in the town = k

60/100 x 24/100 x k = 3600

=> k = 3600 x 100/24 x 100/60

=> k = 25000

From I and II:

Number of Carpenters in the town = 10/100 x 26/100 x 25000 = 650

Hence, data in both the statements I and II together are necessary to answer.

5) Answer: E

From I:

35% of the total number of Tailors are females.

From II:

15% of the number of people having other profession in the town are Tailors.

From I and II:

Let, total number of people in the town = n

Number of female Tailors in the town= 35/100 x 15/100 x 26/100 x n

Number of female Doctors in the town = 60/100 x 10/100 x n

Required ratio = 35/100 x 15/100 x 26/100 x n : 60/100 x 10/100 x n

= 91:400

6) Answer: C

The total number of students not participated in any sports from school A

= > 256 * (100/16) * (32/100) = 512

The total number of students not participated in any sports from school C

= > 1500 * (37/100) = 555

Required difference = 555 тАУ 512 = 43

7) Answer: A

The average number of students studied in all the given schools together

= > [(256/16) * 100 + 1200 + 1500 + (240/24) * 100 + 2000] / 5

= > [1600 + 1200 + 1500 + 1000 + 2000] / 5

= > [7300 / 5] = 1460

8) Answer: B

Total number of students participated in badminton from school C and E together

= > 1500 * (25/100) + 2000 * (30/100)

= > 375 + 600 = 975

Total number of students participated in Cricket from school A and B together

= > (384 / 24) * 100 * (28/100) + 1200 * (18/100)

= > 448 + 216 = 664

Required % = (975 / 664) * 100 = 146.83 % = 146 %

9) Answer: B

The total number of students participated in Badminton from school A and D together

= > (448 / 28) * 100 * (24/100) + (1200/6) * 5 * (27/100)

= > 384 + 270 = 654

The total number of students participated in Volleyball from school B and C together

= > 1200 * (20/100) + 1500 * (21/100)

= > 240 + 315 = 555

Required ratio = 654 : 555 = 218 : 185

10) Answer: C

Total number of students studied in school E = 2000

Total number of students participated in Cricket from school B and C together

= > 1200 * (18/100) + 1500 * (17/100)

= > 216 + 255 = 471

Required % = [(2000 тАУ 471) / 471] * 100 = 325 % more
