एक बिल्डिंग के विभिन्न तलों पर कुछ दुकानदारों की दुकानें इस प्रकार हैं कि बिल्डिंग का सबसे नीचे वाले तल की संख्या एक है, उससे एक ऊपर वाले तल की संख्या दो है और इसी प्रकार सबसे ऊपर वाले तल की संख्या सात है। वे सर्दियों की विभिन्न वस्तुएं बेचते हैं अर्थात् : दस्ताने,जैकेट,मफलर,टोपी,स्वेटर,जुराबें और स्कार्फ। B और K के बीच तीन व्यक्तियों की दुकान हैं, जिसकी दुकान B के नीचे है। K की दुकान सबसे नीचे वाले तल पर नहीं है। B और मफलर बेचने वाले के बीच केवल एक व्यक्ति की दुकान है। स्कार्फ बेचने वाले की दुकान, मफलर बेचने वाले के ऊपर एक सम संख्या वाले तल पर है। M और मफलर बेचने वाले के बीच में केवल दो व्यक्ति की दुकान है। दस्ताने बेचने वाले की दुकान, M के ठीक ऊपर है। A की दुकान L के ठीक ऊपर है।A मफलर नहीं बेचता है। टोपी बेचने वाले की दुकान, L के नीचे एक विषम संख्या वाले तल पर है।M, टोपियाँ नहीं बेचता है। D की दुकान C के ऊपर वाले किसी एक तल पर है। स्वेटर बेचने वाले और जुराबें बेचने वाले के बीच केवल एक व्यक्ति की दुकान है।D स्वेटर नहीं बेचता है।M जैकेट नहीं बेचता है।
