6). Answer: d)

Explanation:

Number of men visiting supermarket D

= > 41% of 55500 = 41 × 555 = 22755

Total number of people visiting all the supermarkets together

= > 34560 + 65900 + 45640 + 55500 + 42350 + 59650 = 303600

Required % = (22550/303600) × 100 = 7.49 % = 8 %

7). Answer: c)

Explanation:

Total number of children visiting supermarket B and D together

= > (20/100)*65900 + (33/100)*55500 + (14/100)*59650

= > 13180 + 18315 + 8351 = 39846

8). Answer: a)

Explanation:

Total number of women

= > (55/100)*34560 + (43/100)*65900 + (26/100)*55500 + (70/100)*42350

= > 19008 + 28337 + 14430 + 29645 = 91420

Required average = 91420/4 = 22855

9). Answer: a)

Explanation:

Number of children visiting supermarkets C

= > 20% of 45640 = 20*(45640/100) = 9128

Number of children visiting supermarket F

= > 14% of 59650 = (14/100)*59650 = 8351

Therefore required percentage = [(9128 – 8351)/8351] × 100

= > (777/8351)*100

= > 9 % more

10). Answer: d)

Explanation:

The number of women visiting Super-market A

= > 34560*(55/100) = 19008

The number of women visiting Super-market C

= > 45640*(45/100) = 20538

Required ratio = 19008 : 20538 = 1056 : 1141

1.Answer: b
Marks obtained by Madan in Hindi = 55/100 x 125 = 68.75

Marks obtained by Krishna in General Knowledge = 88/100 x 250 = 220

Required percentage = 68.75/220 x 100 = 31.25%

2.Answer: b
Total marks obtained by all the students in Science

= (60 + 45 + 86 + 65 + 84 + 90) * 150/100

= 430 x 150/100 = 645

3.Answer: b
Marks obtained by Kunal in,

Science = (86/100) x 150 = 129

Maths = (95/100) x 200 = 190

English = (48/100) x 100 = 48

Hindi = (86/100) x 125 = 107.5

Social Science = (68/100) x 125 = 85

General Knowledge = (65/100) x 250 = 162.5

Overall percentage

= [(129 + 190 + 48 + 107.5 + 85 + 162.5)/(150 + 200 + 100 + 125 + 125 + 250)] x 100

= 722/950 x 100 = 76%

4.Answer: b
Marks obtained by Nitin in:

Science = (60/100) x 150 = 90

Maths = (85/100) x 200 = 170

English = (84/100) x 100 = 84

Marks obtained by Mohan in:

Hindi = (92/100) x 125 = 115

Social Science = (92/100) x 125 = 115

General Knowledge = (90/100) x 250 = 225

Required ratio = (90 + 170 + 84) : (115 + 115 + 225) = 344 : 455

5.Answer: b
Marks obtained by Krishna in all the subjects

= (65/100) x 150 + (45/100) x 200 + (65/100) x 100 + (48/100) x 125 + (78/100) x 125 + (88/100) x 250

= 97.5 + 90 + 65 + 60 + 97.5 + 220

= 630

Marks obtained by Rohan in all the subjects

= (90/100) x 150 + (80/100) x 200 + (58/100) x 100 + (88/100) x 125 + (87/100) x 125 + (85/100) x 250

= 135 + 160 + 58 + 110 + 108.75 + 212.5

= 784.25

Required difference = 784.25 – 630 = 154.25

1.Answer (d)
The ratio between the cost price and marked price of mobile in Shop P = 3:5

Profit % = 20 %

20 % of Cost price = Rs. 300

Cost price = 300*(100/20) = Rs. 1500

Selling price = 1500 + 300 = Rs. 1800

Marked price = 1500*(5/3) = Rs. 2500

2.Answer (b)
Profit earned by shop T= 1240*15/100= Rs 186

Profit earned by shop U= 186*5/3= Rs 310

Cost price of mobile sold by shop U= 310*100/10= Rs 3100

3.Answer (c)
Two successive discounts

= 25+10- 25*10/100

= 35- 5/2

= 32.5%

Selling price= 1600*67.5/100= Rs. 1080

Cost price= 1080*100/108= Rs. 1000

4.Answer (c)
Marked price of mobile sold by shop Q= 156*100/12= Rs. 1300

Cost price of mobile= 1300*3/4 = Rs. 975

Selling price of the mobile= 975*106/100 = Rs. 1033.50

5.Answer (c)
Selling price mobile sold by shop R= 1550*112/100 = Rs. 1736

Marked price of the mobile= 1736*100/80 = Rs. 2170

Marked up= 2170-1550= Rs. 620

Markup percentage = 620*100/1550 = 40%
