Had a nice morning meeting with the @​kasplex team where they updated me on their progress on several fronts and we had some back-and-forth. $kas

On the agenda was:
1. Some changes to the KRC protocol (proposed by myself and others) that should streamline the process, make for an easier developer and user experience, and eliminate all the mass issues we have seen in the first open beta
2. A new and improved trust model that will allow new indexers to sync to the KRC network from arbitrary peers without relying on a single source of truth
3. An application of the new partially signed Kaspa transaction (PSKT) functionality introduced into rusty-kaspa to implement atomic swap of tokens, a functionality that will allow e.g. implementing KRC dexes without relying on a third party
4. The conditions for a healthy launch for the next open beta. We agreed that the launch should not be rushed, since it's smooth operation relies on things that are outside of Kasplex's hands. In particular: 1. the rusty-Kaspa team would like to see that most wallets implemented RBF (the mechanism that allows increasing fees for already posted transactions), and that it is working as advertised, 2. infra work to make sure there are sufficiently many public nodes that provide wRPC services.
I tentatively suggested mid August as a realistic goal for relaunch, but also recommended against committing to a launch date at this point. Better to do it right than to do it fast.

We also discussed how the node operation and sync could be made much lighter after KIP6 and txn payloads will be introduced in the 10BPS hard-fork, but that will only be relevant further down the line.

It is exciting to see the Kaspa ecosystem growing and the symbiosis between different teams working on different aspects thereof. In particular, it was very pleased to see PSKT implemented and applied almost simultaneously. It comes to show how the ecosystem helps improve the core, and the attentiveness of the coredevelopers to the community, and it is really beautiful to behold.
