# [Help] Black Screen on Acer Nitro 5 after ubuntu-drivers autoinstall installed unstable 'nvidia-580-open' driver

Hello everyone,

I need urgent help to recover my system. I have managed to completely break my graphics configuration while trying to fix screen tearing. Here is the full story of what happened, the mistakes made, and the current state of the machine.

### 1. System Specifications
* Laptop: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45
* CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 (with Radeon Graphics)
* GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050Ti (Hybrid/Optimus)
* OS: Zorin OS 17 (Based on Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy)
* Kernel: 6.8.0-88-generic (Note: I previously had issues with 6.8.0-90 and removed it).

### 2. The Context & The Mistake
I was initially facing screen tearing/flickering issues on the desktop session.
The Fatal Mistake: Instead of manually installing the stable proprietary driver (535), I ran the following command in the terminal, trusting it would pick the best driver:

sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall

The Result:
According to my apt logs, the system decided to install the nvidia-driver-580-open package, which appears to be a beta/unstable open-kernel driver.
It installed packages such as:
* nvidia-driver-580-open
* libnvidia-gl-580
* nvidia-dkms-580-open
* It also attempted to build modules for kernel 6.8.0-88 and 6.8.0-90.
After rebooting, the system hangs on a Black Screen. It never reaches the GDM login manager.
3. Recovery Attempts (What I have done so far)
Since I cannot access the GUI, I booted into Recovery Mode -> Root Shell.
I attempted to clean up the mess with the following steps, but I am still stuck:
Attempt 1: Basic Removal
I mounted the filesystem as read-write and tried to purge the drivers.
mount -o remount,rw /
apt-get remove --purge *nvidia*

Result: I suspect this didn't fully clean the "580-open" specific packages or dependencies.
Attempt 2: Targeting the 580 Version
Realizing the 580 version was the culprit, I tried:
apt-get purge *580*
apt-get autoremove

Attempt 3: Checking "Resume"
After these commands, I returned to the Recovery Menu and selected "Resume" (Resume normal boot).
Result: Still Black Screen. The system cannot load the desktop environment.
4. Current Situation
* I can ONLY access the Root Shell via Recovery Mode.
* I suspect there are residual configuration files (blacklist files in /etc/modprobe.d/ or leftovers in /var/lib/dpkg/) related to the broken 580-open driver that are preventing nouveau from loading or preventing a clean boot.
* My goal is to completely strip every trace of NVIDIA drivers so I can boot into a basic desktop (using Nouveau), and then properly install the stable nvidia-driver-535.
Question:
What are the precise, nuclear-option commands I should run in the Root Shell to guarantee every single trace of the 580-open driver and its kernel modules are destroyed and the initramfs is properly updated?
