#canadayear - week 2

Ferry Terminals are boring. Luckily, my Switch doesnt need internet :)

Less talking, more pictures the following weeks. The day at the IONA farm (on Pender Island) I am staying at is defined by a morning and evening routine, in which you feed and take care of animals, water plants, wash collected eggs and put them out so people can buy them.

The farm people itself are two older people, a pair, who owns and runs it, and their son who visits quite often. Ellen does most of the work, since Rob got a bit too old, he mostly watches news coverage on the TV. I am up to date on anything xD. The son Kevin works as a chief and stays with his girlfriend most of the time, he is very nice as well.

The animals are a donkey, three goats, nine turkeys, about a hundred chicken. Then a dog and two cats.

Outside of those routines, you work a bit these and that. They have a large farm, so there is more to do then anyone could handle.

Friday I arrived, got shown the evening routine and dinner.

Saturday, I was shown the morning routine and we fixed the barn/shed of the monkey. I also went to the Farmer Market, which is a local event where you can sell and buy a lot of stuff produced on this island.

Sunday, I had the day off and went hiking to a local lake and visited the museum.

Monday, the pair went off to an event, I mostly collected beans and did the routines.

Tuesday, we went to the recycling area and gave a lot of stuff to them, also got some "new" ones. Later, we went to the town to get some groceries.

Wednesday, they went away to another event and I did a lot of watering since it got really hot. Also, the beans got their part. I hate them.

Thursday, we tied up the tomatoes they have. We had a quite large dinner with Kevin and his girlfriend, we eat the steak they had for Robs birthday (he wasn't up for it yet - I got really luckily)

Friday, a new woofer arrived, so we are going to have some fun together. I also vacuumed the beans we picked ;)
#canadayear - week 3

Saturday: We went on the Pender Island Pride Parade. Wuhu \o/. That was fun.

Sunday: Day off, so Yannik and I went to see southern pender island. Which was fun. We had a great view from the tallest mountain on the island (224 meters :O)

Monday: I had to change the hay in the chickens house. Yannik was sick, that was a hard day. Also, the grandkids of rob and allen visited and we played some ganes together in my "break".

Tuesday: Relaxing, I did some tomatoes. Later that day, I and ellen went sailing.

Wednesday: A lot happend. It was raining, so we did not do much outside except from some weeding and fixed a shelf. Then we went inside and cleaned the fridge.

Thursday: Ellen went out all day, so we finished weeding and cleaned the other fridge. Fun tasks :)

Friday: I fixed a lot of stuff with Ellens Computer and her accounts, while yannik was mostly cleaning the house for the next woofer which will arrive her in half an hour or so.
