(short messages for my fellow developers out here, if you are here for my private life (wtf?), just wait for the next post) Happy #hacktoberfest , guys! If you have no idea what I mean, have a look at it. Its a really great project idea and the perfect opportunity…
Remember that last year? Well October (or should I say #hacktoberfest) is happening once again again.
I encourage y'all to give back to open source projects you enjoy and get yourself a T-Shirt (or plant some trees) while you are at it.
I am going to be quite involved with PTB, if you want to check out our hacktober issues there, open this link.
Have a lovely day :)

Oh, did I mention its October? Because it is also Steam Next Fest, and This Means Warp released a demo for it.
TMW is a little game developed by 2 indie devs. It is a roguelite procedural one, often compared to FTL and overcooked in terms of gameplay, and I have to say, it plays great. I did QA testing for this game for the last couple months, and the German translation.
If you checkout the steam page, there is a good chance you can hear me playing it with a friend as the" live stream": TMW steam page.
Check it out (and all the other games with demos), and message me if you want to have a go at it with me.

Hello there.
A couple days ago I stumbled over the Bungle JS 2 kickstarter. The Bungle JS is an open, hackable smartwatch. It is aimed at developers who want to fiddle around a bit with their gadgets, but you dont have to code to use it, there are a lot of apps available out there. It is also pretty cheap, only £59 + shipping.
I will link you to the campaign and there a small post on what this smartwatch is and what it isn't, I encourage you to check the project out, its awesome: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gfw/banglejs-2-the-open-smart-watch/posts/3320732
If you happen to live in Germany/close to me, we can probably team up and divide the shipping costs between us, because the project is from the UK and has to pay taxes, thanks to Brexit \o/ Just drop me a message.
The campaign goes on for the next 48 hours.

Today, I separated my personal/IRL friends from my internet presence on Telegram, which is something I should have done from the beginning tbh. I created a second Telegram account, connected to my phone number. So everyone should have already gotten a small service notification that I joined Telegram, and I encourage you to write with that account instead.
I also added everyone from this channel who I know in real life to my new channel, where the post will be in German and more... intimate😏.
If you think I missed you, PM me, and I will add you.
Have a good day everyone :D

Hello there.
I am a huge fan of the kurgesagt YouTube channel. I was recently watching their video What Are You Doing With Your Life? The Tail End. It made me evaluate how I spend my days and with whom, and I tried to find some regular meetings/encourage existing ones with friends and family.
I can only encourage you to do that with your time. Life can be short.
On that note, I have been on and off developing a project for this exact case for the last 4 months: Your life ends, and you want to inform (online) people about it.
Im not ready to share this project with you, yet. But I'd like to ask you a question:
Why, the fuck, does mongodb not populate lowercase struct keys. Who came up with that design and how many people thought "yeah, thats a good idea, let's do this". I spend at least an hour some weeks into the project wondering why my code wouldn't work but the online example which looked exactly the same logical speaking does. AN HOUR. Couldn't they have introduced an extra type or a keyword or something? A beginner with the language will never think about capitalization being the issue of their code god damn it.

Since November 14th until the 25th I wasn't able to receive emails on my domain because I decided to switch email programs, and the new ones just did not work. I want to say a huge thank you to Rico who followed through with hours of debugging with me and trying to figure out the issue behind the various problems. It was a lot of "fun" and he showed me such amazing things like reverse search through previously typed commands (ctrl + r). Game changer!
Hello there, good winter times to you.
I am looking for someone to help me with a project I have made over the last months. It is based around a web site, which is what I need help with.
You would need to design the web site, based on the existing html files (They are hosted so you can experience the expected flow between them, or I can draw up a diagram to show it). I would love it you wouldn't use JS, but I'm fine if it ends up with some.
The scope of this is a one time job. You would come up with a design, menu structure, and I would be able to add subsites based on that. I have no issues editing frontend, I just despite coming up with it from scratch.
The project will be open source once the design is finished and I had time to run extensive tests on it, so whatever you come up with will be open source as well.
If you are willing to do this or know someone who might, please contact me (https://t.me/poolitzer) to discuss the payment and whatever open questions there are.

Over the last two days, I developed a userbot for a friend of mine, Sköll (@skollwolf). It essentially checks if you currently play a song over spotify. If you do, the bot updates your biography accordingly with the title, interpret, the duration and how…
~2 1/2 years ago I wrote a small script which changes your telegram biography based on the currently playing song in spotify. This has gotten more traction then I expected for such a small thing, most of them users unable to follow the setup steps. So I took a bit of time this weekend to rewrite it interactively, which included spawning a temporary webserver. Hopefully I don't get comments about the project not working now when it is :)

I wonder if this will change to yesterday in 1.66 hours, or if I get a very late night delivery :D
They did change to yesterday + a nice late night warning, props to the backend. It didn't arrive (yet), but still. Good job there
Hey guys, there is a game launching RIGHT NOW which is very dear to my heart - This Means Warp. I am a QA tester for it since 18th of July and did the German translation for the demo, as well as creating the leaderboard on speedrun.com.
What I want to say: This game is amazing. If you have 20 USD/16€ you can spare, please consider buying it. If the steam page/trailers/this message really convinces you and you would love to play it but you do not have the money, PM me and I will send it to you (for like, a maximum of 10 people or so. Still a student over here, not like I'm swimming in money). The developers are really nice and they came up with a great concept, give it a try. And leave a positive review if you like it, it helps them a lot.
