6,338 people received diplomas of higher education at Polytech.
This year we invited graduates of previous years who were not able to celebrate this important event in their lives properly because of the pandemic.
And now they were all together walking in the park, listening to music, lying on multicolored pillows, or sitting on the summer veranda by the doughnut shop.
The head of the rector's administrative office, Vladimir Glukhov, addressed to the graduates: "Friends! Polytechnic University does not say goodbye to you, it temporarily says goodbye. We hope that we will meet with you and that you will not forget this campus. The Polytechnic community has created a special environment within itself: all difficulties, all victories, all sorrows, all achievements, we are ready to share with each other. We solve the country's toughest problems - now you do, too."

Hello! My name is Mohamad Herlin Idris. And today I tell you my #PolytechStory 🫶🏼
You can call me Herlin. I'm from the rainy Indonesian city of Bogor, which has a similar feel to that of St. Petersburg.
St. Petersburg is stunning in its own way, but nothing beats the way my hometown is divided by love, story, and grit. 🤩
🙌🏼 Thanks to the Open Doors Olympiad Scholarship Project, I was able to attend Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. As a bachelor with a GPA lower than 3 of 4, it is miraculous that I got this opportunity.
Money is an additional issue. Numerous tourist attractions, tasty local fare, hospitable locals, and incredibly low prices have made Russian cities famous around the world. But as an Indonesian with a monthly income of USD $300, it's difficult to get by, even with a scholarship.
🔻 Time and time again, I'm grateful to have worked with Prof. Anton A. Naumov, who has become more of a father figure than a mere supervisor. Heartwarming friends and staff of the dormitory. With hard work and perseverance, I was able to complete my master's degree coursework in New materials and Additive Technologies.
🔽 However, it is amusing if you are aware that in Indonesia, a report with the color red signifies failure or "can't continue study." When I get home, I'm anxious about how I'll explain the red color of my diploma to my mom. I hope you all come to this beautiful city full of generous people to further your education so that you, too, can learn how we can become self-reliant through the wonders of science.

Dear students! We remind you to renew and extend your medical insurance every year!
❗️Medical insurance is a mandatory requirement of all Russian universities.
Medical insurance policy should include:
🔺life insurance
🔺health
🔺insurance
🔺repatriation of remains.
Here is the list of companies which you may choose to buy an insurance.
📄To apply for a policy, you need:
- passport
- translation of your passport
- valid registration
If you do not have insurance, you will bear all the medical costs yourself! This is much more expensive than buying insurance once a year.
Costs:

🔽 Medical examination - 4900 rubles annually

⚡ SPbPU in the top ten Russian leaders by level of inventive activity
The Expert analytical center has prepared the seventh ranking «Inventive Activity Index of Russian Universities».
In this ranking, SPbPU was confidently ranked among the top ten leaders in terms of overall patent activity and took the fourth position in the priority «Development of Advanced Digital Technologies».
Our university received the highest scores for the number of foreign patents with countries — members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the share of active patents.
The ranking experts note, that SPbPU has successfully staked on foreign patenting and registered two new patents in Japan related to segmentation of clinical images. Polytechnic was also separately noted among the successful universities in the field of computer program registration (179 applications).
