How many opportunities do young Ethiopians lose simply because they cannot confidently speak English?

Many students understand English.
Many can pass exams.
Many have great ideas.

But when it’s time to speak… fear takes over.

That’s why I built Voxa

Voxa is an AI-powered English learning platform designed for Ethiopian learners helping people practice speaking English without fear.

With Voxa, learners can:
• Practice speaking with AI
• Get gentle corrections
• Improve pronunciation and confidence
• Read books and PDFs with AI support
• Track progress and review mistakes
• Learn with Amharic & Afaan Oromo support

Inside Voxa is also Saba, an AI reading companion that helps learners understand books, save vocabulary, practice speaking from what they read, and turn reading into real communication skills.

Speak → Improve → Review → Read → Speak Better.

This is still the beginning, but it’s real and I’m building it for students like me who struggled to express themselves confidently in English.

ClearPath 1.0 is officially here

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been building a CBT-inspired reflection app focused on helping people slow down, organize their thoughts, and reflect in a calmer way when life feels overwhelming. With May being Mental Health Awareness Month, I wanted to build something meaningful that could positively impact people, even in small ways.

So, the idea behind ClearPath is simple:

Sometimes you don’t need more noise, bur rather just need a space to pause and process what’s happening.

The app includes:
• guided CBT-style reflection for difficult moments
• mood & energy check-ins
• daily CBT practice exercises
• a personal journal to notice patterns over time
• short learning sections about CBT
• calming themes, quotes, and a gentle interface
• local-first storage for privacy

ClearPath is not meant to be a form of therapy, medical care, diagnosis, or crisis support. It’s meant to be a supportive companion alongside therapy, or simply a personal tool for practicing healthier reflection habits in everyday life.

This is version 1.0, so there’s still a lot I want to improve, but I’m genuinely proud that I saw this project through.

You can check it out here and download the APK (Sorry IOS users😭): https://clearpath-promo.vercel.app/

Would genuinely love feedback from anyone who tries it ❤️

(EDIT: The logo is a placeholder for now, I'm gonna ask someone from the community to create an authentic one soon😂)

Introducing ICare

I built ICare because I spend most of my day staring at a screen and kept forgetting to take breaks until my eyes started hurting.

ICare reminds you to follow the 20-20-20 rule by nudging you every 20 minutes to look away from your screen for 20 seconds. If you're really stubborn, Smart Eye Mode can block your screen for 20 seconds and force the break

To make things more fun, I added:
      - Analytics to track your habits
      - Streaks and badges to keep you motivated
      - Different popup personalities
      - A Savage Mode that might roast you for ignoring your eye health

I wanted ICare to be simple, useful, and a little entertaining.

I've been using it myself, and it's already helping me build healthier screen habits. I hope it helps you too.

If you try it out, I'd love to hear your feedback.

waaazzzupppp, Time to share (I guess).

I spent a long time feeling totally lost with Android development. But a few weeks ago, while I was preparing (or whatever you call it😂) for my "Mobile Architecture" final exam, something actually started making sense. I’ve always learned best by just building, so I decided to work on Pulse.

I’ve always wanted a simple way to keep up with trending tech articles, so I built Pulse to curate the top ones, get AI summaries, and save for offline reading.

It’s a very simple app, but building it taught me so much:
* Designing with Jetpack Compose & Material 3.
* Structuring apps with MVVM.
* Making things work offline using Room.
* Diving into the full stack with Express/TS & Postgres to implement the curation.
* Integrating Gemini AI for instant insights.

The process was fun and challenging at the same time and of course will continue updating it. If you want to take a look at the code or try the app out yourself, you can download the APK and check the repo here:

Yo guys, check this out 🔥

My friend built Pulse, an Android app that helps you keep up with trending tech articles.

It curates good articles, gives AI summaries with Gemini, and supports offline reading too. On the technical side, he used Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Room, Express/TS, PostgreSQL, and Gemini AI so it’s simple to use, but the architecture behind it is actually solid.
